Dr. Edward R. Eisner, D.V.M.
The Veterinary Dentist

Dr. Edward R. Eisner is an internationally recognized leader in the field of Veterinary Dentistry. He graduated from Cornell University and has been practicing in the Denver area since 1964. He opened and operated the Campus Veterinary Clinic from 1971 to 2003, and began accepting dental referral cases in 1983, through his specialty practice, Denver Veterinary Dental Service. He has been actively involved with three national veterinary dental associations since their inceptions, serving as president of the American Veterinary Dental College, and the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Eisner was in the first group of veterinarians board-certified as Veterinary Dentists in 1989. Dr. Eisner has lectured on veterinary dentistry both nationally and internationally and is the co-author of the textbook, Veterinary Dental Techniques. He served on the Colorado Board of Veterinary Medicine from 1998 to 2006 and was president of the board 2005-2006. He is currently the president of the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation, actively participating in its Veterinary Dentists Without Borders program and travels to zoos and wild animal sanctuaries in North America. Dr. Eisner is happy to accept dental referrals from the Rocky Mountain region.

Edward R. Eisner, AB, DVM, Diplomate American Veterinary Dental College, is available for speaking and continuing education engagements, including staff training at veterinary practices.

Topics 1-20 are available as 50 to 120 minute presentations for veterinary and veterinary technician conferences. Topics 21 and 22 are for registered dental hygienists and dog clubs and associations respectively. Additional, more advanced topics are available upon request.

Kathy Pershing
Certified Veterinary Technician

Kathy is a graduate of Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and has been a CVT for 14 years, currently working with Dr. Edward Eisner in the dental department of VCA Highlands Ranch Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Highlands Ranch, CO. She has assisted in local, regional and national dental conferences throughout the United States and travels to hospitals throughout the western United States providing individualized training sessions. She has held a position with the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation, maintaining equipment, accompanying the Veterinary Dentists Without Borders on missions to sanctuaries and zoos in Colorado and throughout the U.S., and assists with advanced level dentistry on exotic animals.

Trudy Howerter
Certified Veterinary Technician

Trudy graduated from Texas A&M in 2001 with a BS in Zoology. In 2003, she graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. For the past 14 years, she has worked with Dr. Edward Eisner in the dental department of VCA Highlands Ranch Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Highlands Ranch, CO. She continues to work and volunteer for the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation, where she performs dentistry on wild and exotic animals throughout the United States. Trudy continues to teach dental x-ray positioning at hospitals and conferences across the country.
